One Williams Center has a waste management and recycling policy in place to educate and inform tenants about procedures for trash and recycling collection in the complex.
Trash/Trash Waste: This type of waste is any material that cannot be recycled and does not need to be destroyed such as food garbage, Styrofoam, napkins, paperclips, rubber bands, etc.
Recycle Waste: Any other type of non-confidential waste that does not need to be destroyed/shredded such as paper, plastic, and cardboard.
Confidential Paper Waste: Any documents and reports that contain sensitive, confidential information. Each tenant is responsible for complying with their company’s records retention and document destruction policies. Property Management does not provide or coordinate services for disposal of confidential documents.
Waste Disposal Procedures
Trash/Trash Waste: The janitorial service collects all trash cans nightly and disposes of trash waste in the dumpsters located in the dock. To maintain cleanliness of carpets and floors in the office areas, tenants should NOT DISPOSE LIQUIDS IN THE DESK SIDE TRASH CANS. Containers with liquids should be disposed of in the sink or trash receptacles located in kitchens or maintenance centers.
Recycle Waste: Your office may be equipped with a BLUE recycle container for disposal of recyclable paper products. When this container is full, tenants are responsible for emptying the container into the GREEN 90-gallon recycle containers located in the service elevator lobby on your floor. These GREEN containers are not locked, and the contents are not shredded prior to leaving the building. When the containers are full, a day porter takes the containers to the dock and empties them into the large recycle compactor. Once the compactor is full, a licensed recycle company picks up the compactor and takes it to the local recycling collection site where materials are sorted and processed for resale or disposal. Cardboard boxes should be broken down prior to disposing into the recycling container. Click here for more information about what items can be put in the recycling containers.
